Devices-as-a-Service

The University of South Africa (UNISA) is the largest university in Africa (by student numbers). Veritech was contracted to provide more than 5000 laptop devices as a service.

This essentially entailed configuring the devices and managing the logistics of delivering uniquely spec’d laptops to the right end-users throughout urban and rural South Africa.

Once delivered, Veritech had to provide initial and ongoing training, hardware protection, support and maintenance to all users and their devices for three years.

Managed IT Services

Sizwe Medical Fund and Hosmed Medical Scheme merged to form Sizwe Hosmed Medical Scheme, the 8th largest medical aid scheme in South Africa with more than 70,000 members and approximately 200,000 lives and beneficiaries under its care.

The merger necessitated the reconfiguration of the merged entity’s approach to IT so as to reflect its vision and strategic thrust.

Veritech was appointed to be Sizwe Hosmed’s de facto IT department and to provide managed IT services for about 100 users and approximately 80 devices over a period of three years.

Email Hosting

SAHPRA is tasked with regulating (monitoring, evaluating, investigating, inspecting and registering) all health products in South Africa.

When SAHPRA assumed the combined roles of the Medicines Control Council (MCC) and the Directorate of Radiation Control (DRC), Veritech was appointed to provide email hosting and security services and migrate over 2000 user email accounts.

Managed Services

Homegrown was a well-established food brand with primary agri and food processing facilities throughout South Africa. These included bakeries, grain milling facilities and distribution warehouses.

Veritech provided much-needed managed IT services including ISP, VPN, telephony, email, domain, web and server hosting, cybersecurity and support services to more than 100 users and devices.
